RossCOMPLETE RESULTS

GREENCASTLE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's swimming and diving team combined for eight individual top-five finishes to place third at the DePauw Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

The men's finish matched the team's best DePauw Invitational finish in program history.  The women's squad placed seventh of eight teams in the meet.

Junior Matt Ross (West Lafayette/Harrison) led the Engineers with individual finishes of second and third.  Ross was second in the 400-individual medley in 4:17.70 and placed third in the 200-butterfly in 1:55.33.

Sophomore Andrew Podgorski (Goshen) added finishes of second and fourth.  Podgorski was runner-up in the 100-breaststroke (58.92) and finished fourth in the 200-breaststroke (2:14.49).

Sophomore Logan Ryan (Kent, Wash./Kentwood Senior) finished third in the 200-breaststroke (2:14.89) and was also eighth in the 200-individual medley.  Junior John Huster (Terre Haute/North) added a fourth in the 100-butterfly (53.01) and a sixth in the 100-backstroke (55.22).  Sophomore James Landry (Grayslake, Ill./North) pitched in with fifths in the 100-backstroke (54.81) and the 200-backstroke (2:01.39).

Other individual top-eight finishers included sophomore Aaron Foreman (Kingwood, Texas) with a seventh in the 500-freestyle (5:07.24) and freshman Eric Yuhas (Fremont, Ohio/Ross) with an eighth in the 100-butterfly (55.92).

The 400-medley relay team of Huster, Podgorski, Ross and Yuhas came home second in 3:35.66.  The 200-medley relay squad of Landry, Podgorski, Huster and junior Ross Meininger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) added a third-place in 1:39.93. 

On the women's side, junior Shannon Cunnien (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's) had two indvidual eighth-place finishes to lead the team effort.  Cunnien placed eighth in the 1,650 freestyle (19:09.35) and the 400-individual medley (5:09.47).

Freshman Celeste Kline (Terre Haute/North) added an eighth place in the 100-backstroke in 1:05.74.  Four relay teams also contributed sixth-place performances for the Engineers.

Rose-Hulman returns to action on Jan. 6 against Franklin College in the team's Senior Day Meet.
