ANDERSON, IND. -- Anderson University relied on a balanced attack to top Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 11-0 and 6-0 in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference softball doubleheader on Sunday.
In the opener, Hannah Belvo tossed a complete game three-hitter to lead the Ravens pitching effort. Katie Lee had three hits, scored twice and had two RBIs, while Sami Frazier finished 3-3 for Anderson.
Sophomore Carly Heibel (Fort Wayne/Lakewood Park), junior Allison Bowman (Fort Wayne/Snider) and sophomore Lindsey Watterson (Lexington/Southwestern) slapped singles for Rose-Hulman in game one.
In the nightcap, Anderson pitcher Devin Moorman tossed a complete game two-hitter with five strikeouts in the victory. Frazier added two more singles with three RBIs and Katy Ogden had a two-run home run for the Ravens.
Bowman paced the Rose-Hulman offense with both singles in the nightcap.
Anderson improved to 19-11 overall and 9-3 in HCAC play, while Rose-Hulman stands 12-22 and 4-10 in league games. The Fightin' Engineers host Greenville College in a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
