TERRE HAUTE, IND. – A tough slate of preseason preparation is now underway for the 2013 edition of the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women’s soccer team.
The squad arrived on campus for its first set of two-a-day practices on Friday, Aug. 16, and has been hard at work in preparation for the upcoming fall season set to begin with the Rose-Hulman Invitational Aug. 30-31.
The Fightin’ Engineers were picked to finish fourth in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference by the league’s coaches in the recently released preseason poll following Rose-Hulman’s 9-7-3 overall record in 2012, its best season since 2008.
Rose-Hulman and fifth-year head coach Amy Helliwell returns 10 starters and 15 letter winners from a squad that went 4-3-2 in HCAC play in 2012, including all-region selections Lucinda Combs (Danville, Ky./Boyd County) and Nicky Wheeler (Avon).
