HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman women's soccer team has
been selected to finish eighth in the Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference this season, in a preseason poll of league
coaches released Tuesday.
Hanover College and Transylvania University were picked first and second, respectively, with two first-place votes and just four poll points separating the two squads.

Rose-Hulman features the return of seven starters and 10 letter winners from the 2011 squad this fall. Seniors Ally Nelson (Mooresville) and Amy Schleter (Knoxville, Tenn./Karns) provide the most returning experience, with juniors Cassie Cox (Louisville, Ky./Manual), Rachel Johnstone (Loveland, Ohio) and Amanda Kingman (Plano, Texas) returning for their third year on the squad.
Rose-Hulman opens the season with a home match against North Park University on Saturday September 1 at noon.
