DEFIANCE, OHIO -- The Rose-Hulman women's soccer team completed its 2010 season with a 2-1 victory at Defiance College on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Eli Baca (Santa Fe, N.M.) recorded one goal and one assist to lead the Engineer offense.  Freshman Rachel Johnstone (Loveland, Ohio) (pictured) scored the game winner for the Engineers.

Baca tied the match at 1-1 in the 54th minute with her 10th goal of the season.  Senior Molly Richardson (Orange Park, Fla./St. John's Country Day) added the assist.

Johnstone added the game winner in the 66th minute on a pass from Baca and junior Carolyn Guzik (Avon, Ohio/Padua Franciscan).

Rose-Hulman outshot Defiance 13-7 in the match, led by three shots from Richardson.  Junior Julie Brennan (Indianapolis/Pike) recorded two saves in the victory.

Seven seniors capped their Rose-Hulman careers in the match, led by historic careers for Richardson and Baca.  Richardson ranks second in school history with 128 points and third all-time with 52 goals.  Baca finished her career ranked sixth in school history with 28 goals and seventh all-time with 68 points.

Rose-Hulman completed its season with a 7-12 overall record and a 4-5 conference mark.  The Engineers placed sixth in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings.  Defiance finished 4-9-4 and 2-5-2 in league matches.
