TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Two members of
the Rose-Hulman women's soccer team captured Capital One academic
all-district honors in results released today by the College Sports
Information Directors of America.
Senior Julie Brennan (Indianapolis/Pike) and sophomore Rachel Johnstone (Loveland, Ohio) were chosen to the second-team NCAA Division III academic all-district seven squad.
Brennan started all 18 matches at goalkeeper this season for the Engineers with 119 saves and a 2.00 goals against average. The two-time academic all-district selection completes her era ranked as Rose-Hulman's school record career holder for saves with 347.
She ranks second in school history with 29 victories as a goalkeeper and is third in school history with six shutouts.
In the classroom, the mechanical engineering major has a 3.99 grade point average and has been named Outstanding German Student and a Heminway Scholar.
Johnstone led Rose-Hulman in scoring this season with three goals and four assists for 10 points in 16 starts. She has recorded six goals and 16 points in her two years as a starter for the Fightin' Engineers.
In the classroom, the chemical engineering major has a 3.93 grade point average and is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta honorary fraternity and serves as treasurer for the Delta Delta Delta sorority. She is also a member of Engineers Without Borders, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and the Ladies Greek Bible Study.
Rose-Hulman finished 5-12-1 overall in women's soccer this season.
