HANOVER, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology battled
Hanover College to a 0-0 draw in Heartland Collegiate Athletic
Conference women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman Lucinda Combs (Danville, Ky./Boyle
County) led the effort with her seventh shutout of the
season and the eighth of the year by the Fightin' Engineers.
Combs recorded five saves in the shutout.
The seventh shutout for Combs this fall also marks a new
Rose-Hulman single-season record.
Hanover narrowly won the shots differential with an 11-6 edge in
the match. Sophomore Nicky Wheeler (Avon)
led the Engineers with three shots.
Rose-Hulman stands 8-6-3 on the season and 3-2-2 in conference
play, while Hanover has an 11-4-2 mark and is 4-2-1 in league
matches. The draw helps Rose-Hulman remain in the midst of
the fight for the fourth and final HCAC Tournament qualifying
position. The Fightin' Engineers host HCAC leader Earlham
College on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
