HANOVER, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team defeated Hanover College 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Rose- Hulman scored one first half goal. In the 31st minute when sophomore Spencer Johnson (Yorkville, Ill.) knocked in his first career goal off a pass from sophomore Ryan Rieboldt (Grafton, Wis.).

Just two minutes after halftime, junior B.J. Thompson (Princeton, Ind.) knocked in the second Engineer goal in the 47th minute for his second goal of the season.  Sophomore John Munson (Bloomington, Ind./University) had the assist.

In the 66th minute, sophomore William Senat (Edmond, Okla/North) scored his fifth goal of the season off a pass from Clint Vatterodt (Bloomington, Ill./University) to make the score 3-0.  The assist was Vatterrodt's school record setting 21st in his Rose-Hulman career.

Senat then returned the favor in the 88th minute, assisting on Vatterodt's 12th goal of the season in the final score of the day.

Freshman Drew Miller (Cincinnati, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick) picked up the shutout in goal with a pair of saves.

The Fightin' Engineers are now 8-5 overall and 2-1 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play this season.  Hanover fell to a 4-8 mark and is 1-2 in conference games.

Rose-Hulman returns home on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. matchup with in-state rival Franklin.
