746-acad-distTERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology juniors Drew Belk (Jasper) and Mike Schiff (Martinsville/Mooresville) earned Capital One Academic All-District honors, in results released today by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Belk ranked second in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference with 10 goals and was third in the league with 21 points.  His top game featured a hat trick in a league victory over Mount St. Joseph.

In the classroom, the electrical engineering major carries a 3.74 grade point average.  He is also a member of the campus Triangle fraternity.  Belk's career totals include 13 goals and 28 points in 34 matches.

Schiff was named HCAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2011 and also earned a spot on the first-team all-league squad last season.  He was a first-team academic all-district selection in 2011 and scored one goal in 20 starts this season.  He has appeared in 53 matches at Rose-Hulman.

The chemical engineering major carries a 3.66 grade point average and is also a member of the Triangle fraternity.

Both players advance to the national ballot, with the Capital One Academic All-America Team scheduled for release on Nov. 27.

Rose-Hulman compiled a 12-5-3 regular season that included the team's third regular season Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship since 2008 and another trip to the HCAC Tournament.
