HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology recorded their
third consecutive shutout with a 5-0 victory over Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Mount St. Joseph on
During these three games, the Engineers have outscored
their opponents 19-0.
The Engineers were led by senior Paul Bouagnon
(St. Charles, Ill./Burlington Central), who scored two
goals and recorded an assist on the day. Bouagnon also
recorded a team high five shots.
After playing to a tie for the first 44 minutes of the
game, Bouagnon scored with just 22 seconds left in the first half
from sophomore Zane Englert (Waterloo, Ill.) for
the Engineers' first goal.
Bouagnon scored again just two minutes into the second
half for his second goal of the game.
Rose-Hulman added a third goal in the 55th minute
when sophomore Adam Carlson (Brownsburg, Ind.)
scored off passes from Bouagnon and freshman Benjamin Green
Sophomore B.J. Thompson (Princeton, Ind.)
notched the Engineers' fourth goal following passes from senior
Corbin Clow (Martinsville, Ind.) and junior
Clint Vatterodt (Bloomington, Ill./University) in
the 68th minute.
Junior Brad Foulke (Indianapolis,
Ind./Pike) finished the scoring with a header over the
goalie off a pass from junior Ethan Schilbach (Edmonds,
Senior goalie Andy Kruth (Cedar Park, Texas/Vista
Ridge) recorded four saves in the game. The Engineers
outshot the visiting Lions 23-6 on the day.
Rose-Hulman improved to 5-5-2 on the season and are 2-0 in
the HCAC, while Mount St. Joseph dropped to 2-7-1, 1-1 in the
HCAC. The Fightin' Engineers travel to Transylvania
University Saturday to face the defending HCAC Tournament champion
