Overtime Goal Lifts the Engineers Past Bluffton

Green1TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Bluffton University knocked away 23 shots in regulation before one shot in overtime lifted Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer win.  

Freshman William Senat (Edmond, Okla./North) knocked in his first career goal in the 93rd minute from outside the box to led the Engineers to the 1-0 victory.

Rose-Hulman controlled the majority of the game, outshooting Bluffton 24-2.

Senior Will Terrill (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Christian Academy) led the shooting with four shots.  Seniors Mitch Buffington (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) and Corbin Clow (Martinsville, Ind.) each contributed three shots. 

Five Engineers also chipped in with two shots each. 

The Engineers had 18 corner kicks in the game while Bluffton was unable to achieve a single corner.  The Bluffton defensive effort helped send the game to overtime as their two goalkeepers combined for 13 saves. 

Rose-Hulman improved to 6-7-4, 3-2-2 in conference play.  Bluffton falls to 2-13 overall, 0-7 in conference.  The Engineers travel to Earlham College on Wednesday for another Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup.
