GREENVILLE, ILL. -- Greenville College scored once in each half and played solid defensively to capture a 2-0 men's soccer victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Wednesday night.
Greenville scored late in the first half and midway through the second half, before Rose-Hulman lifted its level of play in the second half.
Greenville outshot Rose-Hulman 14-10, but the Fightin' Engineers improved possession time was shown in an 8-2 edge in corner kicks.
Junior William Senat (Edmond, Okla./North) led the Rose-Hulman offense with two shots. Sophomore Drew Miller (Cincinnati, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick) added eight saves in goal.
Greenville improved to 3-0 on the season, while Rose-Hulman stands 0-2-1.
Rose-Hulman returns to action with two home matches this weekend. The Fightin' Engineers host Wabash on Saturday at 2 p.m., then welcome DePauw to Jim Rendel Field on Sunday at 4.
