TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology defeated Bluffton University in convincing fashion with a score of 5-0 in the conference opener.
Rose-Hulman scored three of their five goals in the first half. Junior Drew Belk (Jasper, IN) led the Engineers with two goals scored. He also contributed an assist.
Junior Ryan Rieboldt (Grafton, Wis.) scored the final goal in the 28th minute of the first half to bring the score to 3-0.
Junior William Senat (Edmond, Okla.) and junior Fletcher Carlson (N. Muskegon, Mich.) added two insurance goals to end the game.
Goalkeepers sophmore Drew Miller (Cincinnati, Ohio) and junior Alec Houpt combined for the shutout.
Rose-Hulman outshot Bluffton 18-3 in the contest.
The Engineers improved to 5-4-2 on the season and 1-0 in conference play, while Bluffton stands 2-7-0 and 0-1 in the conference.
