BartushBOX SCORE

TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology scored once in each half and relied on strong defense to top Franklin College 2-0 in men's soccer action on Tuesday night.

Freshman Andrew Bartush (Granger/Penn) put the Engineers on the board with a score in the 43rd minute, courtesy of a crossing pass from sophomore Ryan Rieboldt (Grafton, Wis.).

The Fightin' Engineers added an insurance goal in the 88th minute on a fancy move from senior Tim Hollingshead (St. Peters, Mo./Lutheran) for his first score of the season.

Freshman Drew Miller (Cincinnati, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick) recorded the shutout goal with five saves to improve to 5-0 on the season.

Senior Clint Vatterrodt (Bloomington, Ill./University) led the Rose-Hulman offense with seven shots, and sophomore Drew Belk (Jasper) fired four.  Chad Parrett and Brandon Iaria had two shots each for Franklin, who was led by 11 saves from goalkeeper Lucas Hill.

Rose-Hulman outshot Franklin 19-7 in the contest and recorded a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.

Rose-Hulman improved to 9-5 overall and 3-1 in league play, while Franklin dropped to 6-7-1 and 1-3 in conference matches.  The Fightin' Engineers return to action at home on Saturday against Manchester.
