BOSTON, MASS. – Make it two more victories for the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology rifle team, which defeated both Massachusetts of Technology and John Jay College in the Engineers second match at MIT Saturday.
Rose-Hulman fired a team score of 4,434 points to earn top honors over both MIT (4,343) and John Jay (4,242).
Senior Adam Foss (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) led the Engineers with a score of 1,124 points on Day 2, improving his small bore score from Friday’s match by ten points. Close behind him were senior teammates Evan Duvall (Smyrna, Tenn./Smyrna) and Suzanne Eisenberger (Clarence Center, N.Y./Northeastern University) who both fired a score of 1,108. Duvall’s 560 in small bore led the Engineers, while Foss topped the air rifle scores at 565.
Junior Allie Carlson (Goose Greek, S.C./Patch American) finished fourth for the Engineers, shooting a 1,094. Carlson improved her air rifle score from Friday’s match by 16 points.
Rose-Hulman returns to action Nov. 2, when it hosts Tennessee-Martin at the Engineer Rifle Range.
