Rifle Scores 4,408 Against Top Foes at Ohio State

R LogoCOLUMBUS, OHIO -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology recorded a score of 4,408 in a rifle match that included four of the top 25 teams in the nation in the latest NCAA rifle rankings.

Top-ranked Kentucky won the match with 4,688 points.  No. 9 ranked Ohio State scored 4,623, followed by No. 20 Texas El Paso at 4,540, and No. 25 Rose-Hulman at 4,408.

Senior Evan Duvall (Smyrna, Tenn./Smyrna) led the Rose-Hulman effort with a score of 1,122 points.  Duvall had a consistent day featuring 561 in smallbore and 561 in air rifle.

Senior Suzanne Eisenberger (Clarence Center, N.Y./Northeastern University) finished second among Engineers at 1,101 points.  Senior Adam Foss (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) narrowly missed the 1,100 mark with a score of 1,098.

Freshman John Overton (Orland, Calif.) came home fourth among Engineers with a score of 1,085 points.  Junior Allie Carlson (Goose Creek, S.C./Patch American) contributed a score of 1,082 to the effort.

Rose-Hulman returns to action on Jan. 11 at Ohio State University.
