Foss1TERRE HAUTE, IND.  -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology rifle team finished second at the Purdue Invitational and fell to nationally ranked Ohio State in a weekend featuring Big Ten Conference foes.

Against Purdue, junior Adam Foss (Fort Wayne/Concordia Lutheran) contributed a score of 1,117, including a 573 in air rifle.

Junior Suzanne Eisenberger (Clarence Center, N.Y.) pitched in with a score of 1,106. 

Sophomore Allie Carlson (Goose Creek, S.C./Patch American) added a score of 1,094, and freshman Jen Nishida (Honolulu, Hawaii/Sacred Hearts Academy) rounded out the team score with a 1,023. round out the victory. 

Rose-Hulman finished ahead of Purdue and Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the four-team event.

On Sunday, Ohio State visited the Cook Stadium Rifle Range and earned a dual victory over the Fightin' Engineers.

Foss led the Engineers with a score of 1,135, including 575 in air rifle.  Junior Evan Duvall (Smyrna, Tenn.) contributed a total of 1,118 to the effort.

Eisenberger added a tally of 1,114, with Carlson pitching in a 1,099 total score.  The Fightin' Engineer team effort against Ohio State also included a school record for score in the kneeling position.

Rose-Hulman returns to action at home against Morehead State on Dec. 1.
