barkerFRANKLIN, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology tied a program record with a third place finish in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's golf championships on Sunday.

Battling heavy winds at the Legends of Indiana Golf Course, the Fightin' Engineers relied on a balanced team effort for the third-place finish.

Freshman Hayley Vonder Haar (Highland, Ill.) led the Engineers with an all-conference performance.  Vonder Haar fired a round of 85 on Saturday and shot a 94 on Sunday to finish seventh.

Freshman Jaclyn Smith (Thorntown/Western Boone) contributed scores of 95 and 90 to place 11th individually and second among Engineers.

Sophomore Deanne De Keizer (Mishawaka/Penn) recorded a two-day total of 188 to place 17th overall, including an 85 on Saturday.  Freshman Miriam Remmers (Hudson, Ohio) also contributing a Saturday 96 to the team score, and sophomore Emily Barker (Fort Wayne/Leo) battled through the conditions to contribute a 100 to the team on Sunday.
