Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior golfer John
Rigitano (Addison, Ill./Addison Trail) earned a spot on
the Capital One NCAA Division III Academic All-District
Seven Men's At-Large Team, in results released today by the
College Sports Information Directors of America.
Rigitano led the Engineers in scoring with 82.6 strokes per round in 2012, including three top-20 finishes in seven events. He recorded a season-best score of 77 and led Rose-Hulman's performance at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships with a 23rd place finish.
In the classroom, Rigitano holds a perfect 4.00 grade point average as an electrical engineering major.
The men's at-large team includes the 10 top student-athletes in NCAA Division III in the sports of golf, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis and wrestling, among other sports, in the states of Indiana, Illinois and Ohio.
Rigitano advances to the Capital One Academic All-America ballot, with the team scheduled for release on June 5.
