rigitano1LEXINGTON, KY. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology placed 15th in one of the nation's most competitive tournaments hosted by Transylvania on Saturday and Sunday.

The effort included a team score of 308 on Sunday that marks the best Rose-Hulman team score in several seasons.

Freshman Sanders Park (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton) led the Engineer effort with rounds of 78 and 74.  Park placed 39th of more than 100 players from some of the top NCAA Division III programs in the nation.

Junior Travis Whithaus (Robinson, Ill./Vincennes University) added scores of 82 and 76 to finish 69th overall.

Freshman Kent Kraus (Greenwood/Center Grove) scored 83 and 79, with junior John Rigitano (Addison, Ill./Addison Trail) just behind at 86 and 79.

Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Little Giant-Engineer Classic on Sept. 19 in Crawfordsville.
