Men's Golf Opens Spring Season with Sixth at MSJ

Park225NORTH BEND, OHIO – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's golf team opened the 2014 spring season with a sixth-place finish at the Mount St. Joseph Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Aston Oaks Golf Course.

Sophomore Sanders Park (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton) led the Fightin' Engineers with an eighth-place finish in the 84-player event.  Park fired two rounds of 77 on the weekend.

Freshman Tapat Wittayakom (Chaing Mai, Thailand/Prem Tinsulanonda International) added a 23rd place finish with scores of 82 and 79.

Junior Travis Whithaus (Robinson, Ill./Vincennes University) contributed to the team score with rounds of 85 and 88, while freshman Sam Pastoriza (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) came home fourth among Rose-Hulman players with scores of 89 and 87.

Rose-Hulman returns to action with a home duel match against Wabash College on Wednesday at Hulman Links Golf Course.
