TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's golf team placed fifth, led by one all-conference honoree, at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships held at Rea Park Golf Course.
Freshman Sanders Park (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton) became the first Rose-Hulman men's golfer since 2000 to earn all-conference honors after placing eighth individually.
Park, who also claimed HCAC Freshman of the Year honors, fired rounds of 78, 75, 77 and 73 over four rounds at Aston Oaks Golf Course and Rea Park Golf Course.
Junior Travis Whithaus (Robinson, Ill./Vincennes University) added a 10th place finish for Rose-Hulman after firing scores of 77, 79, 78 and 75.
Junior Jeremy Walters (Manila, Utah) finished third among Engineers with rounds of 86, 91, 80 and 77. Freshman Kent Kraus (Greenwood/Center Grove) scored 91, 85, 79 and 82. Freshman Chris Lambert (Chesterfield, Mo./Chaminade Prep) pitched in rounds of 78 on Saturday and 77 on Sunday.
Transylvania earned the team championship by firing a team score of even par 288 on championship Sunday. Hunter Frazier won medalist honors with a four-day net score of +1 for 289, including a hole-in-one on the 13th hole at Rea Park on Saturday.
