Men's Golf 5th, Park Places 6th at Defiance Invitational

225Park PuttDEFIANCE, OHIO -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology came home fifth at the Defiance College Men's Golf Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, led by a sixth-place performance from sophomore Sanders Park (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton).

Park fired an even par round of 71 to open the tournament and scored a 79 on Sunday. 

Sophomore Kent Kraus (Greenwood/Center Grove) and senior Travis Whithaus (Robinson, Ill./Vincennes University) came home 17th with two-day scores of 155.  Kraus had rounds of 75 and 80, while Whithaus fired scores of 77 and 78.

Freshman Luke Peoples (Terre Haute/South) recorded scores of 80 and 82 to place 41st overall, while freshman Sam Pastoriza (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) tallied an 83 and an 81.

Rose-Hulman will compete at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament on April 25-26 and May 2-3.
