Kyle Kovach Wins Inaugural HCAC Play of the Week Award

kovach-td-kzooTERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Kyle Kovach (Munster, Ind./Andrean) was voted for completing the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Play of the Week for last weekend's game.

Kovach earned the award for his 60-yard fourth quarter touchdown run that brought the Fightin' Engineers within 29-28.  He completed the game with 223 yards on 34 carries, the fourth highest single-game rushing total in Rose-Hulman history.

The civil engineering major earned the title after voting took place on the HCAC social media outlets of Facebook and Twitter.  The final voting tally saw Kovach garnering 45% of the vote, edging out Franklin junior defensive back Zack Corpe for the honor (42%)

The poll was distributed on the HCAC Twitter (@HCACDIII) and Facebook pages Tuesday, with voting ending at Noon today.  The new contest generated over 5,000 page views and 1,500 votes in a 36-hour period.

Rose-Hulman returns to the gridiron with a matchup at Centre College on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
