kovach-mc2TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior running back Kyle Kovach (Munster/Andrean) competed in the fourth annual D-III Senior Classic at the site of the 2012 NCAA Division III Championship game.

Kovach represented the North Team in the contest that finished with a 37-21 victory by the South All-Stars.  The D-III Senior Classic brings together the nation's top NCAA Division III seniors to compete in a North vs South format all-star game.

Kovach had three rushes in the game and also returned one kickoff for 15 yards.

Kovach capped his career as the all-time leading rusher at Rose-Hulman with 3,631 yards and the all-purpose leader with 6,134 yards gained.  His accomplishments included 39 rushing touchdowns, 46 total touchdowns, the NCAA Division III all-purpose yardage statistical national championship in 2011, and a spot on the Associated Press / Sports Illustrated Little All-America Team in 2011.

Kovach earned second-team all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference after battling through an injury plagued 2012 season.  He rushed for team-high totals of 626 yards and eight touchdowns, and also hauled in 22 pass receptions for 162 yards and one touchdown.

Rose-Hulman finished the season with a 5-5 record and was 5-3 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play.
