Kovach Named to National Team of the Week



TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior Kyle Kovach (Munster, Ind./Andrean) has been named to the d3football.com National Team of the Week and was also awarded Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts at Anderson on Saturday.

Kovach established school records with 246 rushing yards and 419 all-purpose yards in Rose-Hulman 53-50 victory over the Ravens.  His efforts also included 119 yards on six receptions and 54 yards on kickoff returns.

For the day, Kovach scored two rushing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns to help the Fightin' Engineer offense.  He also vaulted to No. 3 nationally in all-purpose yards at 221.0 per game.

Kovach stands fourth in Rose-Hulman school history with 2,805 rushing yards and needs 26 yards against Earlham to move into third place on the career rushing list.  He also holds Rose-Hulman's career school record with 4,930 all-purpose yards and has made 74 receptions for 735 yards as a Fightin' Engineer.

Rose-Hulman stands 4-5 on the season and returns to action Saturday as at Earlham College in the annual Battle of The Borders Broadsword rivalry game.
