IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology freshman Jacob
Dye (Tipton) has been named the Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his
efforts at Hanover on Saturday.
Dye returned three kickoffs for 82 yards at Hanover, including a career-long 42-yard return. On the season, he averaged 24.6 yards per kickoff return on eight attempts.
Dye leads the team in receiving yards (324), average per catch (15.4) and touchdowns (4). He has hauled in 21 receptions in the team's first five games.
Rose-Hulman stands 2-3 on the season and 2-1 in HCAC play after the team's 33-27 overtime loss at Hanover on Saturday. The Fightin' Engineers return to action at home on Saturday against Bluffton.
