GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's cross country team will compete at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional on Saturday, hosted by Calvin College in Michigan.
The women's six-kilometer race will begin at 11 a.m. at the Gainey Athletic Facility in Grand Rapids.
Senior Ryann-Rebecca Montgomery (Lafayette, La./Episcopal School of Acadiana) leads the Fightin' Engineers as a national qualifying hopeful at the meet. Montgomery won the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship on Nov. 2 with a school record six-kilometer time of 22:00.
Montgomery became the second conference champion in Rose-Hulman history. Only one Fightin' Engineer, Rachel Krasich in 2007, has qualified for the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country National Championships.
Junior Anna Taylor (Owensboro, Ky./Apollo) will join Montgomery at the NCAA Regional after narrowly missing honorable mention all-conference recognition at the HCAC championships. Taylor placed 22nd overall.
Awards will be presented at the finish line following the completion of the race. Individual and team qualifiers will advance to the NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships on Nov. 23 at Hanover College based on the finish at Saturday's race.
