WXCrunner4TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, DePauw University and the Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau teamed up to host the second Gibson Family Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.

The Gibson Family Cross Country Invitational has been established to recognize the contributions of the Gibson Family to the sport of cross country.  Greg Gibson graduated from Rose-Hulman in 1984 and is a member of the Fightin' Engineer Athletic Hall of Fame.

The women's race included 15 institutions from six states and featured 112 total runners.

The women's 6,000-meter race was won by Michelle Sutton of Greenville College with a time of 23:08.4. She was followed by teammate Aubree Schreder, 23:28.9.

Bellarmine won the meet with just 22 points, finishing with seven runners in the top 12.  Berry College featured three runners in the top ten, led by Courtney Cooper at 23:35.9.

Rose-Hulman was led by sophomore Creasy Clauser (Crawfordsville,Ind./Southmont) who finished in 24:34.0.  Senior Katherine Quigg (Chillicothe, Ill./Illinois Valley Central) finished in a time of 26:59.1.
