BLUFFTON, OHIO -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology relied on one all-conference and two honorable mention all-league performances to place second in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Championships at Bluffton on Saturday.

The Fightin' Engineers matched their best league finish in the HCAC era with the second place team performance.

Sophomore Stuart West (La Porte) earned all-conference honors for the second consecutive year to lead Rose-Hulman's effort.  West finished 12th overall in an eight-kilometer time of 27:12.

Junior Andrew Thompson (Mundelein, Ill./Vernon Hills) and sophomore Josh Hojnacki (La Porte) brought home honorable mention all-league accolades with 13th and 14th place finishes.  Thompson ran a time of 27:23, with Hojnacki completing the course in 27:24.

Junior Robbie Mayhew (Terre Haute) and freshman Kevin Mauser (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) rounded out Rose-Hulman's team score.  Mayhew finished 21st in 27:39, with Mauser just two spots behind in 23rd at 27:44.

Rose-Hulman will compete in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional at Anderson on Nov. 10, before the Fightin' Engineers host the NCAA Division III National Championships at the LaVern Gibson Course on Nov. 17.
