Cross Country Teams Picked 2nd, 6th in HCAC

westTERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology cross country teams have been picked to finish second and sixth in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference this season, in a preseason poll of league coaches released Monday.

The men's cross country team returns one two-time all-conference selection and one honorable mention all-league choice from last season.  Junior Stuart West (La Porte) has earned first-team all-conference honors during both years of his career, and senior Andrew Thompson (Mundelin, Ill./Vernon Hills) was an honorable mention all-league runner last fall.

Rose-Hulman's deep men's cross country roster includes nearly 30 student-athletes for the upcoming year.  The women's squad features the return of all-conference senior Ryann-Rebecca Montgomery (Lafayette, La./Episcopal School of Acadia).

First-year head coach Geoff Wayton and the Fightin' Engineers begin the 2013 cross country season at the Indiana State Sycamore Invitational on Sept. 14.
