Men's Cross Country Places 19th at NCAA Regional


hojnackiALEXANDRIA, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology relied on a balanced team performance to place 19th of 37 teams at the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Regional hosted by Anderson University on Saturday.

Sophomore Josh Hojnacki (La Porte) led the Fightin' Engineer performance with a 94th place finish out of 256 runners in a time of 26:55.  Freshman Kevin Mauser (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) came home second among Rose-Hulman runners and 101st overall with a time of 26:57.

Freshman Jacob Becker (O'Fallon, Ill.) added a 107th place with a time of 26:57.  Junior Andrew Thompson (Mundelein, Ill./Vernon Hills) came home 110th overall in 27:09.

Other Rose-Hulman runners included sophomore Stuart West (La Porte) with a time of 27:18; sophomore Kyle Smolarek (Macomb, Mich./L'Anse Creuse North) with a 27:18; and junior Robbie Mayhew (Terre Haute) with a 27:23.

Rose-Hulman will host the NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships on Saturday at the LaVern Gibson Course.
