williams-dc2GREENCASTLE, IND. -- NCAA Division III No. 1 ranked DePauw University stayed unbeaten in women's college basketball with a 79-36 victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday.

DePauw placed four players in double figures to improve to 10-0 on the season.  Alex Gasaway led the Tigers with 16 points.  Alison Stephens and Kate Walker added 12 points each, with Kathleen Molloy scoring 10 for DePauw.

Freshman Addie Johnson (Caledonia, Mich./Catholic Central) and sophomore Sheree Williams (Bluffton, S.C.) led the Rose-Hulman effort with eight points each.

Other key contributors for Rose-Hulman included junior Kelsey Ploof (Noblesville) with seven points, freshman Andi Evers (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) with six points, and freshman Carrie Morris (Altadena, Calif./Mayfield) with five points and two assists.

DePauw shot 45% from the field and held the Fightin' Engineers to 34% in the contest.  Rose-Hulman led 5-4 after a three-point play by Evers and stayed within 14-11, before DePauw scored 20 straight points late in the first half.

Rose-Hulman stands 3-7 on the season and faces Spalding University (2-5) in the third-place game of the DePauw Invitational on Sunday at 3 p.m.
