FinnellEC2DANVILLE, KY. -- Centre College relied on a strong defensive effort to top Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 84-44 in women's basketball action on Saturday night.

Senior Alisa Dickerson (Elizabethtown, Ky.) led Rose-Hulman with 11 points and eight rebounds. 

Freshman Grace Gibbs (Parker, Colo./Ponderosa) provided scoring balance with nine points.

Freshman Emily Fuhs (Jasper/Northeast Dubois) came off the bench for eight points and six rebounds.  Freshman Sheree Williams (Bluffton, S.C.) added seven points and five rebounds. 

Maggie Prewitt led three Centre players in double figures with 14 points.  Bridget Winstead added 12 points, and Alyson Burke scored 11.

Dickerson and sophomore Heather Finnell (Decatur, Tenn./Cleveland) (pictured) were named to the all-tournament team following the contest.

Centre improved to 3-0 on the season with the victory, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 0-2.  The Fightin' Engineers return to action with a home contest on Nov. 29 against St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in the annual Clabber Girl Trophy Game.
