MarshTERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Manchester College withstood a second half rally to top Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 59-51 in women's basketball action on Wednesday night.

Senior Donna Marsh (Mobile, Ala./Baker) (pictured) recorded a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds to pace the Fightin' Engineers.  Junior Lauren Meadows (Indianapolis/ Brebeuf) also reached double figures with 14 points.

Freshman Kelsey Ploof (Noblesville) contributed nine points and 10 rebounds, while junior Alisa Dickerson (Elizabethtown, Ky.) added six points, five rebounds, four assists and three blocks.

Alexandra Starkey led the Manchester offense with 17 points.  Melissa Eltzroth also reached double figures with 14 points for the Spartans.

Manchester jumped out to a 31-19 halftime lead and held its 12-point advantage for four minutes in the second half at 40-28.  The Engineers rattled off a 10-2 run to close with 42-38 at the 10:26 mark on a score by Marsh.

The Engineers trimmed the margin to four points on three occasions, but a 6-0 run over three minutes put Manchester ahead 56-46 and secured the Spartan victory.

Rose-Hulman stands 4-8 on the season and 2-3 in HCAC play, while Manchester improved to 6-6 overall and 4-1 in conference games.  The Fightin' Engineers travel to Bluffton University on Saturday afternoon.
