1000th-winST. LOUIS, MO. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology captured the 1,000th men's basketball victory in school history and improved to 3-0 on the season with a 71-42 victory over Fontbonne University on Tuesday night.

Rose-Hulman stands 3-0 for the first time since the 1990-91 season with the victory. 

Sophomore Julian Strickland (Indianapolis/Pike) led three players in double figures with 16 points on 7-9 from the field.  Sophomore Jake Dodd (St. Peters, Mo./Missouri-St. Louis) added 13 points, and junior Austin Weatherford (Cicero/Hamilton Heights) pitched in with 10.

Junior Jon Gerken (Defiance, Ohio/Tinora) came off the bench with nine points and five rebounds.  Dodd added team-high totals of six rebounds, two assists and three steals in the victory.

Daniel Lisch led the Fontbonne offense with 11 points.  Rose-Hulman held the Griffins to just 34% from the field and 1-12 from three-point range in a strong team defensive performance.

Rose-Hulman's 1,000 wins include nine conference championships and eight NCAA Division III Tournament appearances.  The Fightin' Engineers have also defeated 14 current NCAA Division I programs, highlighted by handing the University of Kentucky its fifth worst defeat in history with a 52-11 win in 1910.

Rose-Hulman returns to action on Sunday with a 5:30 p.m. central time contest at Millikin University.  The Fightin' Engineers will hope to move to 4-0 for the first time since the 1977-78 College Athletic Conference championship season on Sunday.
