miller-fontTERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology relied on a balanced scoring attack and improved to 4-1 on the season with a 72-54 win over Fontbonne University on Wednesday night at Hulbert Arena.

Senior Nate Gissentanner (Conyers, Ga./Rockdale County) led the Engineers with 14 points on 6-7 from the field.  Junior Jake Dodd (St. Peters, Mo./Missouri-St. Louis) added nine points on 4-6 from the field.

Junior Julian Strickland (Indianapolis/Pike) and freshman Jimmy Miller (Indianapolis/North Central) (pictured) scored eight points each.  Miller also added a team-high five rebounds.  Senior Jon Gerken (Defiance, Ohio/Tinora) also contributed seven points.

The two teams battled back and forth early, with Rose-Hulman gaining a 13-12 lead on a Strickland three-pointer at the 10:54 mark of the first half.

Rose-Hulman closed the first half with a 21-4 run and held the Griffins to just one point in the last 7:50 of the opening 20 minutes to take control of the contest.  Three pointers by Dodd and Gissentanner helped spark the spurt.
