Baseball Completes Florida Trip with Loss to Capital

turk-acAUBURNDALE, FLA. -- Capital University relied on timely pitching and a balanced offensive attack to top Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 7-1 in the final game of the Fightin' Engineer spring trip to Florida.

Jacob Thurman and Dean Lanhgolz led the Capital offense with three hits each, and Jeremy Finchum scattered 10 hits but held Rose-Hulman to one run in eight innings of work.

Junior Hank Akard (Indianapolis/Ben Davis) led the Rose-Hulman offense with three hits, including a double and one RBI.  Senior Matthew Turk (Addison, Ill./Addison Trail) matched Akard with three hits.

Freshman Caleb Kissel (Plainfield, Ill./North) also had a multiple-hit game with two singles.

Rose-Hulman returns to action with a road game at Wheaton College (Ill.) on Wednesday.
