WINTER HAVEN, FLA. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology relied on a strong pitching effort to top St. John Fisher 5-3 on Friday in college baseball action in Florida.

Freshman Ben Menich (Mount Prospect, Ill.) tossed five innings with seven strikeouts to earn his first college win.  Menich scattered seven hits but allowed just two walks and two runs in the effort.

Senior Ryan Fuller (Fort Wayne/Elmhurst) provided 3 2/3 innings of one run pitching, and sophomore Chris Erickson (Edwardsville, Ill.) recorded the final out to secure his first college save.

Offensively, senior Will Burchett (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic) led Rose-Hulman with three singles.  Junior Donald Stopka (Grayslake, Ill./Carmel Catholic) added a double and a single with two runs scored and one RBI.  Sophomore Hank Akard (Indianapolis/Ben Davis) added two singles, two RBI and one run scored.  Stopka joined senior Jamie Weinle (Harrison, Ohio/Olney C.C.) with RBI singles in the three-run fourth inning.

Rose-Hulman stands 4-3 overall and completes its spring trip with a matchup against the College of New Jersey on Saturday.
