Driving directions
We're about an
hour west of Indianapolis on I-70 and about a three-hour drive
from Chicago, St. Louis or Cincinnati.
From the north via US 41/State Highway 63
US 41 becomes Third Street when you enter Terre Haute. Follow it
to Ohio Street (identified as US 40 East). Turn left (east) and
continue for about 5 miles through town. Signs will divert you to
Wabash Avenue when it's time. Rose-Hulman is on the north side of
US 40 about ½ mile east of State Highway 46.
From the east via US 40
Proceed west toward Terre Haute. Rose-Hulman is on the north side
of US 40 about ½ mile west of the stoplight at Lost Creek
Elementary School. If you reach Highway 46 you've gone too
far.
From the south via US 41/US 150
US 41 becomes Third Street in Terre Haute. Continue on it until
you reach the I-70 interchange. Go east on I-70 just 4 miles to the
next exit (Exit 11) and go north on Highway 46. Turn right at
Wabash Avenue. Rose-Hulman is about ½ mile away on the north side
of the road.
From the east or west via I-70
Take Exit 11 and go north on Highway 46 to Wabash Avenue. Turn
right. Rose-Hulman is about ½ mile away on the north side of the
road.
From the south via Highway 46
Drive north on Highway 46 to its end at US 40 (Wabash Avenue).
Turn right. Rose-Hulman is about ½ mile away on the north
side.
Flying?
Fly into Indianapolis International Airport, just about an hour
away from Rose-Hulman.
Point of interest: Wabash Avenue is the same as U.S.
Highway 40, also known as the Historic National Road. That was the first
federally funded interstate highway and has some great historic
stops if you want to take a more leisurely route to Terre
Haute.
