Let us introduce you to your
teachers.
We educate,
challenge and support our students. We use a combination of theory
and practice. We believe in the value of teaching. We hold
doctorates from the some of the most prestigious universities in
the country. We enable our students to become creative,
sophisticated thinkers, active citizens and effective leaders in a
global community. We prepare our students to be successful
chemists, engineers, physicists, mathematicians and continual
learners in an ever-changing society. We are the teachers of
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Yes, we said teachers.
One of the biggest differences between Rose-Hulman and other
colleges is that we ask our faculty to do three things: teach,
teach and teach. Doing research and writing papers is encouraged
because it helps our faculty members gain new insights and make
their classes more relevant and interesting. But for a professor to
place research ahead of teaching? Never at Rose-Hulman.
The bottom line? With 99% of our faculty holding Ph.D. degrees,
you'll be taught by someone who really understands the subject, not
a graduate student looking to pick up a few extra bucks. Our
classes are small with a student/faculty ratio of 11 to 1. And our
professors are chosen on their ability to teach and relate to you,
the student.
