Academic probation
A graduate student whose cumulative graduate grade point average
(GPA) falls below 3.0/4.0 is automatically placed on academic
probation. Probationary status is removed only when a graduate
student's cumulative GPA equals or exceeds the minimum 3.0/4.0
required to earn the Master's degree. A graduate student who
remains on probation after completing 12 credit hours since being
placed on probation will be dismissed from the program. Students on
probation cannot hold a graduate assistantship or receive a tuition
grant. Additionally, they may not enroll for more than 12
credit hours per quarter. A student whose cumulative GPA
drops below 2.5/4.0 will automatically be dismissed from the
graduate program. Any questions concerning rules, procedures, etc.,
relating to graduate work should be directed to the Associate Dean
of the Faculty.
