Dr. Jay McCormack works in engineering design, integrating design across disciplines, lean manufacturing and engineering education. He co-founded Pittsburgh-based DesignAdvance Systems Inc. Dr. McCormack is assisting in the institute's new engineering design program and is part of a Rose-Hulman group participating in a new national higher education consortium developing and promoting teaching practices to help engineering students reflect on their experiences. He also taught engineering courses in Rose-Hulman's ESCALATE program, a living-learning community focused on integrating entrepreneurship and technical disciplines. He co-advises the American Society of Mechanical Engineers student organization.
