Dr. Michael Hewner is a former professional programmer with experience in designing and building circuit boards and firmware, along with coding video games. His research focuses on how computer science students perceive the field and how that relates to educational success. Dr. Hewner has advised the Cyber Defense Team, which has a history of winning state- and regional-level competitions, as well as the Board Game Club.
