Peter Coppinger

Associate Professor of Biology

Dr. Peter Coppinger is a specialist in plant biology. His research led to the discovery of a new species of bacteria, using a technique that he developed while working with student researchers. He also works closely with students as an organizer of the Interdisciplinary Research Collaboration and was featured in Campus Technology magazine for his use of interactive software in the classroom. Dr. Coppinger enjoys making science accessible to all people and has been featured on local television station’s “Clearing Up The Science” segments, explaining science concepts found in everyday life.
