An overview of ETHICS and Indiana STATUTES and RULES for Professional Engineers

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is pleased to announce a new Continuing Education course to meet the ethics and statutes requirements for Indiana Professional Engineers. In August 2010, State legislation passed the Continuing Education Rule, requiring Indiana Professional Engineers possessing active certificates to complete:

  • Thirty (30) hours of continuing education which meets the requirements of Indiana Code 25-1-4 in order to renew his or her Professional Engineer registration;
  • At least one (1) hour of continuing education each biennium in ethics applicable to the practice of Professional Engineering; and
  • At least one (1) hour of the continuing education each biennium in Indiana Statutes and Rules applicable to the practice of Professional Engineering.

Rose-Hulman in conjunction with Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP is offering a two (2) hour course in Indianapolis, IN. The course will be offered on:

The course is certified by the IPLA to provide you with 1.0 PDH on engineering ethics and 1.0 PDH on statutes and rules applicable to Professional Engineering.

Dr. Craig G. Downing

Craig G. Downing, PhD is the department head for Engineering Management and an associate professor of Engineering Management with responsibility for Continuing and Professional Studies. Professor Downing has more than 12 years of experience teaching manufacturing, management, and mathematics at the post-secondary level. Additionally, he has amassed 10 years of industrial experience, four years as a process engineer and six years as a private consultant for organizations including Lockheed Martin/NASA, Parker Hannifin, and Crain Enterprises. His interests are rooted in Industrial-Academic relationships, Quality Management System Development, and Production/Operations Management. He is a certified manufacturing engineer and Six Sigma Black Belt.

Gotwald, Gregory  

Gregory M. Gotwald, Esq.

Mr. Gotwald focuses his practice on litigation and appellate work in the areas of technical and complex litigation, environmental law, and insurance coverage law. Greg was named a "Rising Star" in 2010 by Indiana Super Lawyers and an "Up and Coming Lawyer" in 2009 by the Indiana Lawyer. Rose-Hulman has honored Greg as a Distinguished Young Alumni (2009) and elected him as the first-ever young alumni representative to its Board of Trustees.
