JOHN T. NEWLIN (1943) earned the 2012 Handclasp Award from the Kiwanis Club of Terre Haute for outstanding professional and civic service. He is chairman of Newlin-Johnson Co. Inc., a real estate business.
JOHN CROSS (1972) was a finalist for the Chicago CFO of the Year Award, recognizing financial leaders for their contributions to a business or non-profit. He serves as vice president of market development and finance for American Institute of Steel Constructions.
NICHOLAS M. RYAN (1975) is CEO and president of Marquette Real Estate Investments in Naperville, Illinois. The company has designed, developed, acquired, and operated more than $2 billion worth of industrial properties.
DON ROSENBARGER (1978) accepted a new challenge last January within the Colas Group, taking on the role of Vice President at The Delta Companies in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
STEVEN E. PRYOR (1990) earned the American Society of Civil Engineers' 2012 Raymond C. Reese Research Prize for a paper that examined the experimental seismic response of a full-scale six-story light-frame wood building. He is the International Director of Building Systems for Simpson Strong-Tie Company

FIONA HAULTER (2002) has joined the Nashville office of CBRE as program manager for the company's global client services/global change management program.
LEO MORAND (2002) and his wife Christen recently became parents to twin daughters. Lucy Grace and Claire Elise were born on October 10, 2012. During Homecoming this year Leo was awarded a Distinguished Young Alumni Award. The Young Alumni Council recognizes four alumni during Homecoming with this award for graduates from the last 10 years with notable endeavors in the areas of career achievement, continued education, community service and/or commitment to the institute. REBECCA RICHARDSON (2002) is now running a start-up engineering division for a steel fabricator, AmFab Inc. in Bernalillo, New Mexico.
JASON MEYER (2003) is currently a civil engineer with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. As such he is developing a watershed management ordinance for Cook County. He is also pursuing a JD from John Marshall Law School.
KEVIN L. WALDROUP (2003) shared his good news that he passed the PE exam on his first sitting. He now has his Indiana PE license. Congrats to Kevin!
LANCE W. GASSERT (2005) has rejoined Garmong Construction Services in Terre Haute as a project engineer.
DAVID HONAN (2005) in late summer, Dave and his fiancée visited over lunch with several members of the CE Department. They were married on September 30th. Congratulations to Dave and Cortney
ROBERT BALDWIN (2007) recently accepted a new position with AG&E Associates in Addison, Texas. He finished his Masters of Engineering in three years at University of Texas - Arlington, allowing him to take the PE a year early. He reports he also passed the new 16 hour structural exam on his first attempt. Congratulations Robert!
BRUCE BOEHL (2007) is still working for Marathon Petroleum in Robinson, Illinois as a maintenance engineer. He married Jeana Webster in July 2011 and they had their first child in October 2012.
DEVIN COOK (2007) reports he passed the Illinois PE exam on is first attempt. Congrats to Devin.
ERIN CRAFT (2007) and Rick DeCola were married on April 21, 2012 at JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh, NC. The bridal party included Amy Knue (BE '07) and KATIE BENNER (2008). Erin is a project engineer for The Walsh Group and Rick is a transportation engineer for RS&H. They reside in Raleigh.

BRAD OTTO (2007) and his wife Meghan relocated in August to the Washington, DC area. Brad is transferring from Baker Concrete Construction (Monroe, OH) to Baker DC, LLC. Congratulations also to Brad for recently passing the Civil PE exam.
JACOB WAGLE (2007) and his wife Chelsea welcomed a daughter, Olive Marie, on April 23rd. Jake will be starting a new position on January 2nd as the Director of Facilities Operations at Rose-Hulman.

SEBASTIAN MENDES (2009) recently finished his 3rd semester of a PhD program at the University of Rhode Island and plans to finish up by next winter or spring.
ANDREW PINKSTAFF (2009) received his Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech this past May. His wife KATRINA MADER PINKSTAFF (2009) was hired by INDOT in June as a full-time Construction Engineer on the I-69 project. On October 11th they welcomed Austin Joseph Pinkstaff to their family. The next day, Andrew received a promotion from Assistant to Lead Bridge Inspection Engineer of the Vincennes District. Last, but not least, early this month he received notice that he passed the PE Exam. Congratulations to Andrew and Katrina.
JESSICA TOTH (2009) received her degree in Engineering Management from Rose-Hulman in May 2012. She recently took a new position as an Associate Technical Professional within Halliburton's Supply Chain Management program. She is now living in Houston, Texas, but her first project will place her in Singapore for the next six months.
KYLE BEATY (2010) and Bailey Birt were married on June 30th at the DePauw University Nature Park in Greencastle, Indiana. He is employed at Exxon Mobil. The couple resides in Houston, Texas.
NATHAN BUTKAUSKAS (2011) is engaged to Kendra Knies. They have set their wedding date for June 14, 2014. Congrats to Nathan and Kendra.
ERIC LIOBIS (2012) was a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction's IDEAS2 Awards Jury, recognizing excellence and innovation in the use of structural steel. He is a graduate student at the University of Illinois.
