Welcome, Dr. Lovell
Dr. Matt Lovell is now entering his second quarter as a tenure-track Assistant Professor here in the department. Matt is a 2006 graduate of our department. He earned his master's and Ph.D. degrees from Purdue University, with an emphasis in structural engineering. For his Ph.D. research, Matt specialized in the cyclic/seasonal behavior of highway bridge abutments. Before joining us, he served as the site operations engineer for the Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (NEES). Here at Rose-Hulman, his course load will include classes in dynamics, reinforced concrete design, foundation engineering, and advanced steel design. Matt, his wife Lindsay, and their daughter Evelyn just welcomed a new addition to their family: Nora was born on November 29, just in time to help Daddy start winter quarter classes.
