Orientation to campus/community life and activities.
Presentations throughout the quarter cover topics such as:
(1) computer usage, ethics, and available software; (2) writing
skills and support; (3) graduate school procedures including
advisory chair and committee composition and selection; (4)
research processes and procedures; (5) research/thesis topic
development and selection; (6) thesis preparation, support, and
procedures; and (7) intellectual property, patents, trademarks, and
related protection.
GRAD 502 Graduate Seminar II 1R-0L-1C

Prerequisite: Graduate Standing
Individual discussions with the director of the graduate program
involving progress toward advisory committee formation, thesis
topic selection, and progress toward completing the plan of
study.
GRAD 503 Graduate Seminar III 1R-0L-1C

Student class presentations covering subject of interest such as
thesis topic, research area, or specialty area.
