FIRST JOB AFTER ROSE-HULMAN?

I went to law school immediately following Rose-Hulman. I had some internships during the summers of law school. After graduating law school, I started working as an attorney at Plews Shadley Racher & Braun, LLP litigating insurance coverage and environmental cases

MOST VALUABLE LESSON YOU LEARNED ON THAT JOB?

Confirming what I had started to learn at Rose-Hulman: being smart isn't always enough—hard work is necessary.

MOST MEMORABLE ROSE-HULMAN PROFESSOR?

Professor Rickert—my Calculus I professor. I remember him solving a trinomial equation out to the ten-thousandths place in his head before the class could type it into Maple.

IDEAL WEEKEND?

Vacation on a beach with my family and friends.

STAR TREK OR STAR WARS?

Star Wars.

WHAT IS THE NERDIEST THING YOU DO?

The nerdiest thing that I do is probably reading my Rose-Hulman textbooks to help prepare for expert depositions.

ADVICE TO INCOMING ROSE-HULMAN STUDENTS?

Work hard. Enjoy the ride. It's fun, but challenging. You'll be glad you made the decision. Trust me. It's worth it.
